Old Bohemian and Moravian legends make up another volume in the Adapted Czech Prose series. The most famous events and names from Czech national mythology and history are presented in ten tales: Forefather Czech, Libuše and Přemysl, Libuše's prophecy, Horymír and his faithful horse Šemík, the Maidens' War, Prince Václav, King Ječmínek and others, giving students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the figures, sayings and events that can be said to form the basis of the national and historical awareness of every Czech. This volume is accompanied by clear illustrations and photographs of the places associated with these Bohemian and Moravian legends. It also includes a set of grammatical and lexical exercises on each text, a Czech-English-German-Russian glossary and a key to the exercises. The volume also includes an audio CD with a complete recording of the book. This work is for students of Czech as a foreign language at B1 level.
